Sapporo Station Hotels with a Large Public Bath: 4 Compared

About this article. The Japanese article is a guide based on information on the official sites and on Rakuten Travel. We did not stay at these hotels. It writes only what can be read from the listings and contains no impressions from a stay. Records of trips we actually took are in our travel journal posts. A record of a trip through this area is in Part 4 of our Japanese travel journal series on a trip from Niigata to Wakkanai with the Hokkaido & East Japan Pass, which covers Oshamambe, Sapporo and Asahikawa.

Who writes it and how. "shiori" is the name used for the writer of our hotel articles, and it is not a real person. The article is written from Rakuten Travel facility information (prices, facilities, access), and the numbers are checked against the data we retrieved. A draft is made by AI and passed through a machine check. Then, separately from the draft, an AI proofreading role checks the facts and the wording before publication.

Quick answer

  • I looked at 7 hotels within walking distance of Sapporo Station. Five of them mention a large public bath (daiyokujo) in the listing text.
  • The lead hotel is Hotel Emion Sapporo. It is about 4 minutes on foot from the North Exit of JR Sapporo Station, and it has a large bath for guests only.
  • For the four hotels where an amount could be retrieved for the same day, the amount for 2 adults in 1 room was between 26,600 yen and 36,366 yen.

Who this page suits:

  • People who want a hotel within walking distance of Sapporo Station where they can use a large bath before sleeping.
  • People who want to reach the hotel through the underground passages as much as possible on a rainy or snowy day.
  • People who cannot decide whether to stay on the north side of JR Sapporo Station or on the south side.

Who it does not suit:

  • People who want to decide by how late the large bath is open (none of the four lists the hours in the data we have).
  • People who want to keep the amount for two adults in one room at ten thousand yen or less (none of the 7 hotels we looked at was in that range on this day).

Hi! If looking for a hotel in Sapporo makes you want to look up the underground routes too, we are probably friends. I am shiori. This time I looked for hotels within walking distance of Sapporo Station that mention a large bath. I line up four hotels using only what Rakuten Travel shows.

5 of 7 hotels mention a large bath in the listing text

On Rakuten Travel I looked at 7 hotels within walking distance of Sapporo Station and read the listing text of each, one line at a time. Five of them include the words for a large bath. We did not check every hotel around Sapporo Station.

The 2 hotels with no large bath listed

They are Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo (京王プラザホテル札幌) and Hotel MyStays Sapporo Aspen (ホテルマイステイズ札幌アスペン). Both are listed as close to the station, but the listing text has no words for a large bath. I left them out of this topic.

1 hotel that lists a bath but is not in the table

JR Inn Sapporo Kita 2-jo (JRイン札幌北2条) also mentions a large bath. However, no amount for 21 October could be retrieved on Rakuten Travel. If I filled the gap with an amount for another day, the hotels could not be compared, so I did not put it in the table.

If you are looking for Sapporo Station hotels by low price, there is an earlier article that compares Sapporo Station hotels by actual amounts for two people in one room. This time, I looked at the bath listings first.

Hotel Emion Sapporo (ホテルエミオン札幌)

I chose this as the lead hotel because, of the four, it is the only one whose listing says it connects directly to an exit of an underground passage. The listing also says the large bath is for guests only.

Three things can be read from the listing:

  • It connects directly to exit 15 of the underground passage of Sapporo Station on the Toho Line (subway).
  • It says you can get there without getting wet in rain or snow.
  • The large bath is for guests only.

The access field says about 4 minutes on foot from the North Exit of JR Sapporo Station. From subway Sapporo Station, it is listed as about 5 minutes on foot through the underground passage (via the apartment building).

The amount is 27,100 yen (13,550 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, as shown on Rakuten Travel.

It has 624 reviews on Rakuten Travel with an average of 4.62. The bath score in the category ratings is 4.58, the highest of the four hotels.

If you come by car, note that the parking field says "none." The listing tells guests to use the neighboring coin parking lot and says a discount for guests is available.

The size of the large bath and the hours it can be used are not listed. If you arrive late at night, check the hours on the booking page.

All amounts are actual amounts shown on Rakuten Travel for 2 adults in 1 room on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. In the bath entries, I copied the facts the listing gives about the bath.

Notes on the numbers

The amounts in the table are actual amounts for this one day. When you have decided on your dates, look at the amount for those dates on each booking site.

The amounts are records made when this article was written, for stays on that one date, 2 adults in 1 room. They change with the date and with availability. The walking minutes are what the listing text says, not our own measurements. Check the route on a map before you go.

Look at the minutes in the access field, not at the words "directly connected" or "South Exit"

Among these four, there were two cases where the words in the name or listing and the minutes in the access field do not match.

Even with "South Exit" in the name, it is about 7 minutes from JR Sapporo Station

The access field of JR Inn Sapporo Station South Exit says 2 minutes on foot from Exits 21 and 22 of subway Sapporo Station. From JR Sapporo Station it is listed as about 7 minutes on foot. For people walking from the JR gates, that is the longest figure of the four.

The lead hotel's "directly connected" means the subway exit

Hotel Emion Sapporo is directly connected to exit 15 of the Toho Line (subway) Sapporo Station. It is not connected to the JR gates. If you arrive by JR, use the listed time of about 4 minutes on foot from the North Exit as a guide.

The other 3 hotels

Cross Hotel Sapporo (クロスホテル札幌)

None of the four lists the hours for the large bath

If you choose a hotel for its large bath, you would really like to compare the hours you can use it. But in our data, none of the four hotels gives the hours for the large bath.

If you arrive late, or want to bathe in the morning, check the hours in the facility information on the booking page. We also wrote articles that look for large baths at other stations, Sendai Station and Kanazawa Station.
