Hakata Station Hotels with a Large Public Bath: 3 of 8

We did not stay at these hotels. This page is built from Rakuten Travel listings. The buttons are affiliate links to Rakuten Travel and Agoda, labeled PR. The Japanese article says it is based on information on the official sites and on Rakuten Travel, and that it contains only what can be read from the listings, with no impressions from a stay. Records of trips we actually took are in our travel journal posts.

The Japanese article also explains who writes it and how. "shiori" is the name used for the writer of our hotel articles, and it is not a real person. The article is written from Rakuten Travel facility information (prices, facilities, access), and the numbers are checked against the data we retrieved. A draft is made by AI and passed through a machine check. Then, separately from the draft, an AI proofreading role checks the facts and the wording before publication.

Quick answer

  • I looked at 8 hotels within walking distance of Hakata Station. Three of them mention a large public bath (daiyokujo) or a natural hot spring (onsen) in the listing text.
  • The lead hotel is Hotel Active! Hakata. It is about 4 minutes on foot from the Hakata Exit, and the listing mentions a large bath and a free breakfast.
  • If you want to choose by hot spring, look at Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Hakata or Dormy Inn Hakata Gion (Mikasa no Yu). Both have a bath score of 4.31 on Rakuten Travel.

Who this page suits:

  • People who want a hotel within walking distance of Hakata Station with a large public bath to use before sleeping.
  • People who want to take care of breakfast at the hotel as well as the bath.
  • People who cannot decide whether to stay on the Hakata Exit side or near Gion Station.

Who it does not suit:

  • People who want to compare the hours the large bath can be used before deciding (none of the three hotels that list a bath gives hours in the data we have).
  • People who want to keep the amount for two adults in one room at ten thousand yen or less (none of the 8 hotels we looked at was in that range on this day).

Hello! The kind of person who opens the bath section of a hotel listing before the room photos is usually a friend of mine. I'm shiori. This time I checked which hotels within walking distance of Hakata Station have a large public bath or hot spring. I rely only on Rakuten Travel listings, and I put four hotels side by side.

Three of the eight listings mention a large bath or a hot spring

On Rakuten Travel I looked at 8 hotels within walking distance of Hakata Station and read the listing text of each, line by line. Three of them used the words large public bath or natural hot spring. I did not check every hotel around Hakata Station.

Two hotels about 4 minutes on foot from the Hakata Exit

  • Hotel Active! Hakata: the listing says it has a large bath. The access line says about 4 minutes on foot from the Hakata Exit of JR Hakata Station.
  • Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Hakata: the listing says it has a natural hot spring and a sauna. The access line says about 4 minutes on foot from the Hakata Exit.

For both hotels, the minutes from the Hakata Exit are written the same way.

One hotel 1 minute on foot from Exit 3 of Gion Station

Dormy Inn Hakata Gion (Mikasa no Yu) lists a natural hot spring large bath and a sauna. The access line says 1 minute on foot from Exit 3 of Gion Station and about 10 minutes on foot from Hakata Station. The nearest station is Gion Station on the subway.

For cheap hotels near Hakata Station, our earlier article (in Japanese) lines up the hotels by the actual amount for two in one room. This time I look at the bath first.

Hotel Active! Hakata (ホテルアクティブ!博多)

The bath and the breakfast are both listed. This is the lead hotel

I made this the lead hotel because the listing mentions things you can take care of at the hotel besides the bath. The listing text says three things, and I list them one by one.

  • It has a large bath.
  • The breakfast is a Japanese-and-Western buffet, and the listing says it is free.
  • There are other free services as well (what they are is not given in the listing).

The listing also mentions an award that it says the hotel has won for 12 years in a row.

The access line also gives directions by subway. From the airport it is about 5 minutes by subway to Hakata Station, and then about 2 minutes on foot from West Exit 20. If you arrive by plane, this is a useful clue.

The price was 25,000 yen (12,500 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on 14 October 2026 (Wednesday), as listed on Rakuten Travel.

Rakuten Travel shows 12,293 reviews with an average of 4.32. That is more reviews than any of the other three hotels have. By item, bath is 4.26 and breakfast is 4.36.

If you drive, look at the parking line too. It says 1,100 yen per standard car per night including tax, with several contract lots within 1 minute on foot. All spaces are ground-level, and high-roof vehicles are accepted.

The size of the large bath and the hours you can use it are not given. If you arrive late at night, check the hours on the booking page.

  • Walking times, exits and parking details are what each listing says, not measured by us. Review counts and averages are Rakuten Travel's.

The other three: two hot springs and one close to the station

Here is what to look at for each of the other three hotels.

Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Hakata (西鉄ホテル クルーム博多)

Right next to Hakata Station, but no amount for this day

The listing says it has a natural hot spring and a sauna, is right next to Hakata Station and has a convenience store attached. So there is a hot spring and a sauna, and the listing describes the hotel as being "right next to" the station.

The amount for 14 October 2026 (Wednesday) could not be retrieved from Rakuten Travel. When you book, check availability and the amount for the night you want. Rakuten Travel shows 6,921 reviews with an average of 4.28, and the bath score is 4.31.

The parking line says 2,000 yen per car per night including tax, from 14:30 to 12:30 the next day.

  • Walk (as listed): About 4 min on foot
  • Listing mentions: sauna, parking
  • Reviews: 6,921 reviews, average 4.28 on Rakuten Travel

Dormy Inn Hakata Gion (Mikasa no Yu) (ドーミーイン博多祇園(御笠の湯))

1 minute from Gion Station, with a late-night noodle service listed

The listing says the hotel reopened in April after renovation, and that it has a natural hot spring large bath and a sauna. It also says the hotel is near the entertainment district and has a late-night noodle service.

The price was 33,600 yen (16,800 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on 14 October 2026 (Wednesday). Of the three hotels with an amount, this is the highest figure. The bath score is 4.31. Rakuten Travel shows 4,850 reviews with an average of 4.28.

From Hakata Station it is written as about 10 minutes on foot. If you want to get off the Shinkansen and go straight to a bath, the two hotels on the Hakata Exit side are closer.

The parking line says 12 spaces, first come first served, free entry and exit, 2,000 yen per night.

  • Walk (as listed): 1 min on foot
  • Listing mentions: large bath, sauna, parking
  • Price: 33,600 yen for 2 adults in 1 room (16,800 per person), on 14 Oct (Wed)
  • Reviews: 4,850 reviews, average 4.28 on Rakuten Travel

TKP Sunlife Hotel (TKPサンライフホテル)

No large bath is listed, but it is 2 minutes from the Chikushi Exit

The listing says it is 2 minutes on foot from the Chikushi Exit of JR Hakata Station and directly connected to subway East Exit 6, and that it is easy to get to on rainy days. It does not say anything about a large bath.

The price was 21,000 yen (10,500 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on 14 October 2026 (Wednesday). The Chikushi Exit is also called the Shinkansen exit, and the access line says the hotel is right in front of it. If a large bath is not a must for you, this hotel can also be a candidate. Rakuten Travel shows 4,689 reviews with an average of 3.75.

  • Walk (as listed): 2 min on foot
  • Price: 21,000 yen for 2 adults in 1 room (10,500 per person), on 14 Oct (Wed)
  • Reviews: 4,689 reviews, average 3.75 on Rakuten Travel

None of the three hotels gave the hours for the bath

The thing you most want to know in an article about large baths is how late you can use them. But in the data we have, none of the three hotels that list a large bath or hot spring gives its hours of use.

If you arrive late, or want to bathe in the morning, check the hours in the facility information on the booking page. For similar searches for large baths at other stations, see our Hiroshima Station and Kanazawa Station articles (in Japanese).
