Hotels Near Hiroshima Station: 4 Compared by Exit and Walk

This page is for people who want a hotel near Hiroshima Station and want to compare what the listings actually say. It compares four hotels using only listing data: the exit or tram stop named, the walking time as written, the price for one night, and the Rakuten Travel review count and average. It contains no impressions from a stay.

Quick answer

  • Hiroshima Station has a Shinkansen exit (north) and a south exit, and they lead in opposite directions. Decide the exit before you look at the minutes.
  • Check whether the listing names an exit. A bare number of minutes does not tell you where the walk starts.
  • If your plans for the next day are near Peace Memorial Park, a hotel by a tram stop can be closer to them than a hotel in front of the station.

Who this helps, and who it does not

It helps if you take a Shinkansen early the next morning and want a short walk with luggage, if you do not know Hiroshima well and do not want to come out on the wrong side of the station, or if you are looking for a one-night stay for 2 adults in 1 room at a modest price.

It helps less if you want to stay away from the station and walk around a neighborhood, or if you are driving. For a car, read the parking conditions first.

What to read in a listing

1. The Shinkansen exit or the south exit. Decide this first. The listing of Green Rich Hotel Hiroshima Shinkansen-guchi says 2 minutes on foot from the Shinkansen exit (north exit). APA Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae Ohashi starts from the south exit: 4 minutes on foot from exit 8. The difference is 2 minutes, but taking the wrong exit puts you on the other side of the station.

2. Walking, or the tram. Many Hiroshima listings give a route that uses the tram. The Access field of Hiroshima Intelligent Hotel Annex gives three routes: 10 minutes on foot from exit 8 of the south exit, 3 minutes on foot from Inaricho tram stop, and right at the Inaricho bus stop. Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hiroshima is not described as a walk from the station at all. The listing says to take tram line 1 from JR Hiroshima Station, get off at Chudenmae, and walk about 1 minute.

3. If you are driving, parking comes first. Distance from the station and ease of parking are separate questions. Each of the four words its parking terms differently. APA Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae Ohashi lists entry and exit hours of 7:00 to 22:00. If you want to take the car out before 7:00 the next morning, read that line before the fee.

Will the place I stay be close to where I go?

Staying near the station shortens the next morning's trip to the station, but not to everywhere. The Daiwa Roynet Hotel listing puts Peace Memorial Park about 10 minutes away on foot; none of the station-front listings says that. Green Rich Hotel Hiroshima Shinkansen-guchi is near the Shinkansen exit. If you plan to be in the city center the next day, choose by where you want to be, not by the station.

Is a hotel in front of the station expensive?

Not necessarily, at least on this date. For 30 September, Green Rich Hotel (2 minutes from the Shinkansen exit) was 8,400 yen for 2 adults in 1 room, and APA Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae Ohashi (4 minutes from the south exit) was 13,680 yen. Hiroshima Intelligent Hotel Annex, listed at 10 minutes on foot, was 8,280 yen. Location alone does not tell you the price. Across the four, the spread on this date was 8,280 to 14,000 yen, and the order can change on other dates.

Do reviews help?

Read the average together with the count. Green Rich Hotel has 4,550 reviews with an average of 3.81, while APA Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae Ohashi has 5,180 with an average of 4.24. Both counts are over 4,000. An average reflects what the guests who left reviews were looking for, so decide which conditions matter to you first, then read the average.

Notes on the numbers

  • Prices are for one night on 30 September (Wednesday), for 2 adults in 1 room, as recorded when the Japanese article was made. Prices change by date, and the order of the four can change on other dates. Always check the price shown on Rakuten Travel for your own dates.
  • Walking times, exit names and tram stops are what each listing says, not measured by us. Review counts and averages are Rakuten Travel's.
  • Breakfast, room size and check-in time are left out because the Rakuten Travel facility data does not list them, and we did not stay.
