Sapporo Station Direct-Connection Hotels: 2 of 4 Listed

We did not stay at these hotels. This page is built from Rakuten Travel listings. The buttons are affiliate links to Rakuten Travel and Agoda, labeled PR.

This article is a guide built from the official site and Rakuten Travel listings. The author did not stay at any of these hotels, and it describes only what can be read from the listings, with no impressions of a stay. Records of places we actually stayed are in the travelogue posts on this site, including a trip that passed through this area (Oshamambe, Sapporo and Asahikawa, in Japanese).

The author is "shiori," a writing name used for the hotel articles on this site, not a real person. The text is based on Rakuten Travel facility data such as prices, facilities and access, and the numbers are checked against the data that was retrieved. A draft was made by AI and passed a machine check, and a separate AI reviewer then checked facts and wording before publication.

Hello! Anyone who checks the underground exit signs before pressing a hotel's booking button is more or less a friend of mine. I'm shiori. This time the page is for people who want to get into a hotel as soon as they arrive at Sapporo Station. I compared only the access fields of the Rakuten Travel listings. The four hotels were chosen for what the listings say about direct connection and for how close they are to the station. One hotel near Odori Station is added as a point of comparison for price.

Quick answer

Of the four hotels chosen, two say "direct connection" in the listing. Hotel Gracery Sapporo (ホテルグレイスリー札幌) is connected to the Sapporo Station underground shopping area, and Sapporo Grand Hotel (札幌グランドホテル) is connected to the underground pedestrian space.

On foot from the JR Sapporo Station south exit, the listings say 1 minute for Hotel Gracery Sapporo and 10 minutes for Sapporo Grand Hotel. Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo (京王プラザホテル札幌) is listed at 5 minutes from the west exit.

Only one plan is 10,000 yen or less: a women-only plan at GARDENS CABIN (ガーデンズ キャビン), about 2 minutes on foot from Odori Station, at 4,900 yen.

Good for

  • People looking for a hotel they can enter from the Sapporo Station underground shopping area
  • People who worry about the route on rainy or snowy days (none of the four lists a covered route)
  • People who want walking minutes from the station next to real prices for the same date

Not for

  • People looking for a hotel they can enter directly from the JR Sapporo Station ticket gates (none of the four says so)
  • Two people including a man who want to keep one night at 10,000 yen or less (the price at 10,000 yen or less was for a women-only plan)

Only two say "direct connection"

Many people probably search for hotels with a direct connection to Sapporo Station. So I read the listings of hotels within walking distance of Sapporo Station and chose four. Two of the four use the word "direct." The access field of New Otani Inn Sapporo (ニューオータニイン札幌) also mentions a directly connected underground passage, but the listing puts it 8 minutes on foot from JR Sapporo Station, so it is not among the four.

The access field of Hotel Gracery Sapporo says it is directly connected to the Sapporo Station underground shopping area (Apia / Food Walk), 1 minute on foot from the JR Sapporo Station south exit, on the 7th floor of the Hokkaido Yomiuri Shimbun Building. The access field of Sapporo Grand Hotel says it is directly connected beside exit 8 of the underground pedestrian space, 10 minutes on foot from the JR Sapporo Station south exit and 5 minutes on foot from Odori Station (subway).

In both listings, the connection is to an underground passage or shopping area. Neither says the hotel is connected to the ticket gates of JR Sapporo Station.

No covered route is listed for any of the four

On rainy or snowy days, the question is whether you can arrive without going outside. However, the listings do not describe the route from the underground area to the hotel entrance. Check the map on the booking page.

For other cities, I have looked into "direct connection" hotels in the articles on Hakata Station and Hiroshima Station.

Hotel Gracery Sapporo (ホテルグレイスリー札幌): 1 minute from the south exit, connected to the underground shopping area

I made this hotel the main one because the listing says both that it is directly connected and that it is close to the station.

Three things can be read from the listing:

  • It says it is directly connected to the Sapporo Station underground shopping area (Apia / Food Walk).
  • Above ground, it is 1 minute on foot from the JR Sapporo Station south exit.
  • It is on the 7th floor of the Hokkaido Yomiuri Shimbun Building.

The listing also mentions free Wi-Fi in all rooms.

The price is 26,300 yen (13,150 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as shown on Rakuten Travel. Among the four, this was the highest amount.

It has 5,506 reviews on Rakuten Travel with an average of 4.33. For parking, the listing says it is paid and that motorcycles cannot use it. No number of spaces or fee is listed.

Check-in time is not in the data used here. Please check the booking page.

  • Walk (as listed): 1 min on foot, south exit
  • Price: 26,300 yen for 2 adults in 1 room (13,150 per person), on 21 Oct (Wed)

Compare the hotels

The prices are for 2 adults in 1 room staying on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, as shown on Rakuten Travel. Because the date is the same, they can be compared side by side.

Notes on the numbers

The amounts above are for one night, October 21. Prices change on other dates, so check your own dates before you book. The prices are a record made when this article was written, for that date, 2 adults, 1 room, and they can change afterwards. The walking minutes are what the listing text says; they are not measured by us.

Sapporo Grand Hotel (札幌グランドホテル): direct connection is listed, but 10 minutes from the south exit

Keio Plaza Hotel Sapporo (京王プラザホテル札幌): 5 minutes from the west exit, no direct connection listed

The access field says 5 minutes on foot from the JR Sapporo Station west exit, going straight for 3 blocks along the JR viaduct after leaving the west exit. It also gives about 80 minutes from New Chitose Airport by the hotel bus. The listing says all rooms are non-smoking, Wi-Fi is available, and a breakfast buffet using Hokkaido ingredients has live cooking corners.

The price is 19,400 yen (9,700 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. It has 5,583 reviews with an average of 4.44. The parking field says 2000 yen per night per car.

  • Price: 19,400 yen for 2 adults in 1 room (9,700 per person), on 21 Oct (Wed)

GARDENS CABIN (ガーデンズ キャビン): about 2 minutes from Odori Station, with a large public bath listed

The access field says about 2 minutes on foot from Odori Station on the subway. That is the time from Odori Station, not from Sapporo Station. The route from Sapporo Station is not given in the listing.

The listing mentions a large public bath (daiyokujo), floors separated by gender, a sauna where guests can pour water on the stones themselves (self-service löyly), and a convenience store on the first floor. The price is 4,900 yen (2,450 yen per person) for 2 adults in 1 room on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, but this is the price of a women-only plan. It has 1,141 reviews with an average of 4.27.
